Abstract
Aneurysmal bone cyst of the maxilla is rare and requires a high index of suspicion. It can pose a major health burden to resource-poor individuals who often resort to medical outreaches for treatment.
We report a 41-year-old patient who presented with a left maxillary aneurysmal bone cyst of two years’ duration, which was successfully treated with decortication, gentle curettage, and prosthetic reconstruction with mesh in a medical outreach setting. Post-resection defects can be reconstructed with relative ease using mesh to provide a framework for the deposition of fibrous tissue, restoring the normal contour of the maxilla.

Key words: Aneurysmal bone cyst, maxilla, mesh repair, surgical outreach, case report
